Our takeMay be a small extra for some people. It is not a substitute for brushing, flossing or your dentist.

What the research on oral probiotics shows

Several small clinical trials have tested probiotics, especially L. reuteri, for gum inflammation (gingivitis). A 2020 review that pooled ten placebo-controlled trials found the overall evidence weak. When the L. reuteri studies were looked at on their own, the improvement in gum and plaque scores was not statistically significant. Other reviewers have pointed out that many of these trials are small and have quality problems.

In short, oral probiotics are a reasonable thing to try alongside good habits. They are not a proven treatment for gum disease.

  • Some customers report refund friction

Who should check with a dentist first

Bleeding gums, loose teeth, pain or persistent bad breath can be signs of gum disease that needs professional care. People with a weakened immune system should ask a doctor before taking any probiotic.
